Smithers to Stewart

Moricetown is the place where the Indian band would fish for Salmon...the river was very high this year and the rocks that they stand on to pull the fish out of the water were totally submerged.

the fishing rocks three years ago in the Fall

Looking up from the fishing rocks

Enbridge is a large oil company that wants to bring Tar Sands bitumen  by pipeline from Alberta through BC to a terminal at Kitimat and then to ship it to Asia. This has created a lot of protest due to the danger of spillage into the pristine waters of many rivers that the pipeline would have to cross.

on the road to Kitwanga

The sign at the turning at Kitwanga. The road crosses the Skeena River and heads North up to the junction at Meziadin .

A lovely lake on the roadside......lots of mosquitoes
